How do they work?
We call it zero-fear protection—and we mean it! Every pair has been designed with 4-layer protection that is moisture-wicking, odour-controlling, super-absorbent and leak resistant to keep you feeling dry and fresh. Here’s a breakdown of each layer:
1 - INNER LAYER
Draws away moisture and dries quickly. In the Brasiliano, Shorty and Bikini it’s made from breathable organic cotton. In the Boyleg, it’s an extra-absorbent dry-touch layer.
2 - SUPER ABSORBENT CORE
Ultra-absorbent core locks away liquids and odours, to keep you feeling fresh and dry.
3 - LEAK RESISTANT BARRIER
Flexible, soft and water-repellent to prevent leaks.
4 - ORGANIC COTTON OUTER
Soft and breathable for all-day comfort.

Will they leak?
Every pair has been designed with 4-layer leak-proof protection that is moisture-wicking, odour-controlling, super-absorbent and leak resistant to keep you feeling dry and fresh. The top layer is uniquely designed to draw away moisture and dry quickly. The ultra-absorbent central layer locks away liquid and odours to keep you fresh, while the leak resistant barrier keeps everything stain and leak free. Just like any other period products, it’s about choosing the right absorbency level for your flow to avoid any potential leaks.
Many of us lose less blood than we think. While every cycle is different, the average amount of blood we lose during our whole period is often just two to three tablespoons (30-40 ml).

Do I still need to use other menstrual products, or can I just use period undies?
You can use period undies alone or as a back-up for extra protection. It really depends on your flow and what you’re comfortable with. If you’re trying period undies for the first time, you might like to use them with tampons or a menstrual cup.
How often should I change my period undies?
Our period undies look and feel just like regular underwear, so they’re comfy enough to wear all day. Everyone’s periods are different, so it depends on your flow. Most people wear one pair per day when using them alone. For example, our heavy flow period undies hold up to 3 tampons’ worth of liquid. If you’re wearing them overnight, it’s best to switch into a fresh pair to sleep in. We’ve also designed a handy water-resistant Back Up Bag, so if you do want to change pairs, you can carry your period undies before and after wear.
How to choose.
What are the different absorbency levels?
Our period undies range features 4 fits and 3 levels of absorbency. We recommend having a few of each style for flexibility throughout your cycle.
Light flow: Brasiliano
Holds up to 1 regular tampon’s worth of liquid. Ideal for light flow or spotting days, or as back-up on moderate to heavy flow days. They’re also great for those just-in-case days at the end of your cycle.
Moderate flow: Bikini
Holds up to 2 regular tampons’ worth of liquid. Ideal for moderate flow days, or as back-up on heavy flow days. They’re also great to use overnight.
Heavy flow: Shorty & Boyleg
Holds up to 3 regular tampons’ worth of liquid. Ideal for heavy flow days and nights, or as back-up when you feel like you need extra protection. They’re also great to use overnight.

How many pairs of period undies should I buy?
We recommend having a few of each style for flexibility throughout your cycle.
As a general guide, 1 pair per day if you’re using them as your sole period product (average 4-7 pairs for a cycle). If you’re wearing them overnight, you’ll need an additional pair per night. You’ll need fewer pairs if you’re just using them as back-up with tampons or menstrual cups.
It also depends on whether you’re machine washing them with your regular weekly load, or hand washing them for a faster turn-around.

How to care for them.
How do I wash them?
Welcome your period undies home with a wash before the first wear, and then after each use.
Rinse in cold water until the water starts to run clear.
Cold machine wash in a wash bag to protect them, or hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent.
Line dry, in the sun if you can to help kill any bacteria.
Never use fabric softener. Don’t tumble dry or iron.

Can I wash them with other clothes?
You sure can. Just pop them in a wash bag to protect them, like you would with your delicates. Cold machine wash. Never use fabric softener. Don’t tumble dry or iron.
Will my period undies smell?
If cared for properly, your period undies should not have any unwelcome odours. Make sure you rinse them after each use and wait for the water to run clear before washing them. If you think they need a little extra TLC, try a vinegar soak before you give them a wash. Pop them in the sink with 1 cup of white vinegar and 1-2 cups of water. Soak for about 15 to 30 minutes and then wash as usual.
How long do period undies take to dry?
Your period undies should be line dried only. We recommend drying them in the sun if you can, as sunlight has natural anti-microbial properties that can help kill bacteria. On average, it takes 10-12 hours for a pair of period undies to dry.
Need them to dry faster? Once you take them out of the wash, press your period undies into a towel to absorb excess water before hanging them out. This will speed up the drying process.
NEVER put your period undies in the dryer!
