Nightwear should feel like a bedtime hug. At Cotton On Kids, we design pyjamas and sleepwear for families who know evenings can be a whirlwind of bath splashes, silly stories and “one more cuddle”. Our nightwear is soft, safe and made for movement, mess and a little bit of magic—so your little dreamer can drift off happy, whether it’s a school-night snuggle or a Saturday morning lie-in. Think cosy fabrics, playful prints, and easy fits that keep kids comfy from lights-out to lie-in, with the child as the hero of every sleepy-time story.
Which pajamas Are Best for Summer and Winter?
When the sun stays up late and bedtime feels a bit wiggly, lightweight pyjamas are your best mates. Breathable cotton and soft cotton jersey help little bodies stay cool on warm nights. Short pyjama sets, sleeveless tops and airy woven cotton bottoms let skin breathe and keep bedtime tantrums at bay. If you’re checking for comfort, a quick feel at the back of the neck is the gentlest guide—warm is good, sweaty isn’t.
When winter rolls in with frosty mornings and foggy windows, think brushed cotton, cosy flannel and fleece that’s soft as a teddy bear’s tummy. Long pyjama sets, footed pyjamas for smaller wrigglers and snug rib cuffs keep warmth tucked in. A thermal base layer under cotton PJs is brilliant on chilly nights, and a plush dressing gown over the top makes those pyjama-to-breakfast shuffles extra toasty. Slippers with non-slip soles help little feet stay warm and steady on cold floors, and hoods or shawl collars on gowns feel like wearable blankets without the bulk.
If you’re wondering about room temperature, many families aim for 16–20°C as a comfy sweet spot. Layer light rather than heavy, so you can peel back if your little one runs hot after a midnight teddy rescue. And because kids grow faster than fairy-tale beanstalks, look for adjustable waistbands and rib cuffs that give you a bit of extra season-to-season wear.
How Can I Keep My Child Comfortable and Stylish While They Sleep?
Comfort first, giggles a close second. Our nightwear is built for bedtime gymnastics: think gentle stretch, soft seams and tag-free necklines that feel kind against delicate skin. Elastic waistbands stay put without pinching, and easy poppers or zips on baby sleepsuits make nappy changes a quick in-and-out mission. For sensory-sensitive kiddos, smooth fabrics and flat seams help bedtime feel less scratchy and more “ahhh”.
Style is where the fun begins. Choose prints that turn getting ready into a game: dinosaurs stomping under the duvet, rainbows curling round sleepy shoulders, rockets blasting off to dreamland, or soft florals that feel like a garden at dusk. Mix-and-match sets let kids pick their own bedtime look, which can turn “I don’t want to” into “I’ll choose the rockets, please”. For siblings, matching pyjamas make for adorable storytime snaps; for independent spirits, unisex pyjamas and neutral palettes keep bedtime cool without the fuss.
Fabric-wise, breathable cotton and cosy cotton blends are the heroes of nightwear. They’re soft, washable and hold colour, so those vibrant prints survive the magic of many, many washes. Ribbed sets hug but don’t squeeze, and fleece gowns bring the snuggle factor for early-morning cartoons. If your child wriggles like a puppy at nap time, cuffed ankles and wrists help keep hems from riding up. And if your little one has night-time accidents or milk mishaps, darker colours or playful all-over prints can make laundry day feel a touch more forgiving.
Keeping them comfy and stylish is also about rhythm. A simple bedtime routine—bath, pyjamas, book, bed—creates a cosy cue for sleep. Let them help pick the PJs, pop on a gown for stories, and let the nightwear do the rest. After all, confidence and comfort are the best accessories, even at bedtime.
How To Care For Kids Pyjamas?
Nightwear works hard—milk dribbles, toothpaste stripes, toast crumbs from a cheeky breakfast-in-bed—so easy care is everything. Start by checking the care label and any safety notes; many kids’ sleepwear pieces in the are labelled “Keep away from fire”, so it’s best to avoid high heat when washing and drying.
A cool 30°C wash keeps cotton soft and colours bright. Turn pyjamas inside out to protect prints and gentle trims, and fasten zips or poppers so they don’t tangle in the spin. Wash similar colours together—dark dinos with dark dinos, unicorns with unicorns—and skip harsh detergents or heavy bleach that can fade the fun. For fleecy gowns and flannel sets, a mild detergent and a little fabric care go a long way; tumble dry on low if you must, but line-drying keeps things fluffy and reduces pilling. If bobbles do pop up after lots of cuddles and cartwheels, a quick once-over with a fabric comb tidies them right up.
Stains happen—no judgement, ever. Rinse fresh spills with cool water and dab on a gentle stain solution before the wash. Chocolate and berry smudges usually lift with a pre-treat and a normal cycle; mud is easiest once it’s dry and brushed off. For baby sleepsuits, close zips, undo mitts, and wash with other baby bits to keep everything soft and simple.
When it’s time to put things away, fold sets together so busy mornings don’t turn into a treasure hunt for missing bottoms. Store dressing gowns on hooks for grab-and-go warmth, and keep slippers somewhere little hands can reach for independent getting-ready moments. A lavender sachet in the drawer adds a whisper of calm to bedtime, and cotton breathes best when it isn’t squashed to the brim—give those drawers a little wiggle room.
From first sleepsuits to “I can read it myself” pyjama sets, Cotton On Kids nightwear is made for family life: playful, practical and cosy enough to turn even a drizzly Tuesday into a bedtime win. Here’s to soft fabrics, easy care, and prints that make them smile in their sleep—because the best dreams start with comfy pyjamas and a sprinkle of magic.
